| Summary | ||||||||
Based on the true story of the notorious Kray twins who ruled the London underworld in the 1960s this film takes us back to post war Britain and follows the rise and fall of those infamous gangsters. From their childhood days to their career as mobsters the movie concentrates on the more private drama and tragedy of the twins, their relationship to their mother and family, the unique bond between the brothers and their rather unsuccessful relationships outside the family.

This first of Martin's efforts for the big screen has earned him and his brother a lot of respect among movie critics worldwide. The script and cast on the whole are brilliant, a masterpiece of outstanding quality and appeal. The AMG quite rightly gives it a four star rating. |
