  Summary

Tom Marsh (Martin) walks into Sunhill Police Station and confesses to a murder. He refuses to reveal any further details about his crime before a certain police officer isn't present. When she arrives we are informed that Tom lost his wife three years ago in a car crash when she was run over by a drunk bus driver. The man Tom claims to have murdered is this guy who has just been released from prison. During questioning it becomes clear that the victim might not be dead yet and a hectic search begins. In the course of the episode we learn a lot more about Tom and the relationship to his wife and at the end nothing is really as it seemed at the beginning.

Even though it's just a short film Mart's character is very complex and he manages to give him a lot of depth. The story also raises a few moral questions and the unexpected twist in the end also adds to the quality of the episode. In England The Bill is one of the most popular tv shows and judging from this episode it's obvious why. Martin has definitely made the right decision to be a guest there. His performance is brilliant and moving!!!
