1) Hi Martin, great to hear you are going to join the cast of Eastenders...how did this come about exactly? Did they contact you? Did you have to go for a screen test or did you just get the part straight away? Have you met the other members of Eastenders yet and who is your favourite? We both have been watching Eastenders for about 10 years now, so we are thrilled to see you join "the Butchers", "the Fowlers", and "the Mitchells" .....good luck and we'll be watching!! Lots of love, Miriam and Elsxxx
Miriam and Els, just a quick answer...Yes I did test for the role...and I'm happy it worked out!

2) Hi Martin, I'm a really dedicated fan from yesteryear and I'm glad to see you doing so well. Keep it up!!! But now my question: Have you ever been mountain climbing with your brother? If yes, which mountain did you climb? If no, why not??? What's your favourite sport (activly and passivly) anyway? take care, love P.J.
PJ......I don't really have the time to mountain climb right now but I would love to one day. I am a football fanatic.

3) Cheers Martin, you are married to a gorgeous woman ... are you very jealous??? And will we see your beautiful wife in the public spotlight once again? As you might have guessed already, yep, I'm more of an old fan of Shirlie, so perhaps you can pass on the question. You are a lucky man, I hope you know it!!! Greetings, Tobi from Stuttgart
Tobi.....I'm not really a jealouse person and I will pass on your sweet message to Shirlie.

4) Dear Martin, I'm really happy that I have this opportunity to ask you a question. It's great that you dedicate so much time to your fans!!! The thing that I would like to know is: You have been through a very hard time with your brain tumour ordeal. Are you more afraid of illnesses now or do you think that once you survived this it can't get much worse? Are you more health concious now? That's something I would really like to know. Many thanks in advance for your answer! love, Sheri
Sheri...Thanks for your letter, and yes I am far more health wise now.

5) Dear Martin, have you ever tried to write songs or was that always your brother's department? What does music mean to you in general? Do you have a favourite band/singer? I know that's more than one question, but I think it's all connected! take care of yourself, Dana from Israel
I love writing songs but my only audience these days are my kids and they seem to walk out the room as soon as I start....so?

6) Hi Martin, I know that your brother is a very political person, are you interested in politics too? What do you think of the Euro? Do you like the idea of a united Europe? I know this is probably an unusual question to ask an artist, but it's something we will all be confronted with sooner or later, so I would be interested to know how you feel about it. Take care, Mina
Mina....I have never been a follower of in depth politics but I follow the same as everyone should.....I will never be your local MP!

7) I read in the article in the OK (nice one, by the way) that you have written an autobiography. When will this be out in the shops. Is it about all your life, will there be some nice stories of the Spandau Ballet days as well? Do you like writing? Will you write more in the future? I read on the site that you already have written a film script. Any news about that? God, I think this is a whole bundle of questions, sorry, I got carried away!!! But this is a rare opportunity, so I try to make the most of it!!! Thanks in advance for all your answers ...
My autobiog is something that is an ongoing project...and yes there is everything from the band to Eastenders in there...At the moment we are looking for a publisher.

8) Dear Martin, do you sometimes worry about your children when you look at the world today? What is the most important thing you try to teach them so that they get by when they're grown up? I'm a parent myself and I find it extremely difficult to prepare my kids for what's to come. Any good tips??? a big 'hello' from Germany
I worry about my kids the same as any parent but the older and stronger they get the more you realise that they are capable of looking out for themselves......What will be will be!

9) Dear Martin, have you ever fancied to act on the stage? The famous Westend is right in front of your doorsteps, so have you ever been tempted??? How's your singing, would you fancy to star in a musical? Just wondering ... take care, lots of love, Carina
Carina.....A musical?.........You never know...I take one thing at a time....Never say never!

10) Cheers Martin, I have just noticed that you ans Shirlie are married for 10 years now ... do you sometimes miss your bachelor life? What's the most romantic thing you have ever done for your wife? Or are you not very romantic??? What's the most romantic you would have LIKED to do for your wife but never actually did? Hope this is not too personal. Many good wishes to you and your family, Joan xxx
Joan I am romantic in a funny way.....or so Shirlie says.
