Grays Shopping Centre
Essex, UK - 29.11.03

Martin has turned on the christmas lights at Grays Shopping Centre in Essex on Saturday 29th November at 12.30. I was able to go down and see him as it isn't that far away for me.

He chatted a while about his career, answering questions from the fans and then turned on the lights. After this we all queued up to get his autograph.

I was able to get my previous picture of him signed which was wonderful! I also got a signed autograph for a friend who can't wait to receive it. I was very nervous as I got closer and closer (again....) and he was charming, polite and friendly as usual, GREAT!

A big cheers goes out to Carol who has sent in her great pics again to share them with all other Martin fans out there!!!

Carol met Martin again in Watford when he turned on the Xmas Lights there. After watching his little speach she quickly joined the queue to get a signed picture.

Then she took the opportunity to have her picture taken with Martin ... she was very excited but also a bit nervous ... who could blame her!

Many thanks to Carol for sharing thes special moments with us!

Vogue & Pulse Nightclub
Stevenage, UK - 27.04.02

I won a competition to meet Martin at a local nightclub. When he arrived I was taken upstairs, along with the other competition winners, to prepare to see him. We were given drinks and were then brought into meet him one by one. When it was my turn I entered the room and could hardly look at him while he was staring at me. He then walked over to me and I was able look up. The club took a picture of Martin, myself and my partner (which I don't have yet). A hug, a kiss and an autograph later I had the first of the two provided pictures taken, and then we posed together for the second picture.

It all passed in a bit of a haze, I mostly remember his smile and his blue eyes and that he was polite and very welcoming. It would have been wonderful to have more of a chance to talk to him but others were queued behind us and it was almost 2.am!
Carol, a real Martin Kemp fan...

  Easons
Dublin, Ireland - 25.3.00

Just thought I'd send in my photo of me & Martin at his book signing in Dublin...as you can see I was very thrilled to meet him on my weekend away & throughly enjoyed every minute of it!!
Martin was looking gorgeous as usual and proved what a great bloke he is by taking time to chat to everyone who had made the effort to come to see him. He was very friendly & did his best to put nervous fans at their ease.

Costco Book Signing
Watford, UK - 19.3.00

Visiting the site Lewis O'Dowd spotted himself in our Costco photo report. As he has a much nicer picture of himself and Martin he decided to send it in as a contribution to this section as the meeting with Mr Kemp was definitely a special occasion for him!

We breathe a bit of party air after the 'Monk Dawson' gala premiere at the Odeon Haymarket. Okay, it was not big news for the newspapers, but it was a great event for us!

Mean Fiddler
London, UK - 25.4.94

For the first time since Spandau Ballet had split up Martin can be seen on a stage again playing his bass. He is Tony Hadley's very special guest on his second UK solo tour strumming his bass for 'True' during the encore. There's more than one old Spandau fan in the crowd that have some tears in their eyes.

Splash Club
London, UK - 18.8.93

This is a very personal special night for your homepage hosts as it was the first time after ages that we saw Martin again ... totally overwhelmed by this rather unexpected pleasure we almost forgot about the actual event, namely the very first gig of John Keeble's new band 69 Daze.

'The Krays' World Premiere
London, UK - 26.4.90

This was a very special night for Martin as it marked the beginning of his film career and the launch of a project that had taken so long in the making (counting from the very first time the idea to make a film about the Kray twins had come up). We will never forget that night either, all the glamour, all the excitement, all those ladies trying to restore their make up in the restroom after crying their eyes out at the end of the movie (answering quite clearly the question if the Kemps can act or not!) ... and of course we won't ever forget that both Martin and his brother found time on such an important night to say 'hello' to some crazy fans!

London Islington, UK - 1978

you might know this pic from our Early Years section and much to our surprise and pleasure Deborah saw it there and contacted us to tell us the story behind it:
The picture was taken when I worked as a Saturday Girl in a bakers next to where he worked in a Greengrocers in Essex Road, Islington. He had just given me tickets to see his band who were then called Gentry. They were playing at the Hope and Anchor pub in Cross Street, N1 that Saturday.
My co-worker ran out to take his photograph for me as I was a shy 14 year old and Martin got very embarrased. I just thought you might like to know a little of the history behind the photo
.
